  • My devotions for the last couple of days have been particularly poignant. One of my devotional resources is 'Jesus Calling' by Sarah Young (which I would highly recommend to everyone).

One line out of the October 17 devo is probing my inner life. 'Anxiety is a result of envisioning the future without (God). My challenge is: when I dwell on the 'what ifs' of my life, I quickly lose my spiritual perspective.

The second line is from today's, October 18th. 'If you focus on the obstacle or search for a way around it, you will probably go off course.' Taking my eyes off of Jesus, even for only a few moments can be spiritually dangerous. Jesus said, 'Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness and all these other things will be taken care of. What a great reminder and challenge for our walk with Jesus and each other. Let's keep our eyes on Him.

    In the journey,

I agree! This is an awesome book! I think Ron was the first to receive one as a gift. I've had mine since May and have heard that more and more of our ppl (church family) are ordering copies, probably 20+. Each day's thoughts by Sarah Young totally resonate with my spirit. I like the way she says things so concisely but in a way that I totally connect with. There could be a million wall plaques from her writings. And she's just listening to the Savior's voice. These are the treasures He's laid on her heart as she meditates on the Word and listens, pen in hand :)
