    Welcome to Worship

    Free Methodist Centennial Chapel

    Sunday, October 3, 10:30 AM

    Announcements for this weekend:

Welcome, everyone!  May you sense the presence of God in our midst today. Feel free to stand or sit during the singing.

Our worship today is in-person and on Zoom!

We have Sunday school for children up to grade 6.

COVID 19 – Although worship services are exempt from the current restrictions in Interior Health, wearing masks and distancing is recommended especially for those over 12 not fully vaccinated. Updated guidance for phase 3 is posted in the mail room. Please also sanitize your hands before helping yourself to a drink in the coffee time after worship. Thanks!

    Today’s Scripture: Exodus 2:23-3:15

Sermon Title: God Hears the Cry of His People
    Speaker: Pastor Shelley

    Pre-Worship Prayer……………………………………………………10:15 AM

    Lunch after church! All welcome!

    Prayer……………………………………………………… 9 AM

Pre-Worship Prayer – in the praying room. Please, wear a mask.

Help – immediate need for help with counting the offering (tellers)! Commitment is one hour per week scheduled. Some computer input is required but training is provided. Speak to Earl or office.

Tearfund - Tearfund Sunday is coming. On Thanksgiving Sunday, we will direct a special offering via Tearfund to help hungry people in Ethiopia, hit hard by famine and COVID-19. Please pray about what you can give.

     Sharing From Our Plenty

During the month of October our church will be collecting non-perishable food items for distribution by the Salvation Army to those in need.  Please place donations in the designated area by the entrance.

Pop-Up Student Café - 200 cups of hot chocolate plus treat bags were given out recently outside the church doors to Brock students! We'd like to be able to do this occasionally. Monetary donations will help - designate your gift "Student Cafe."

The Legacy Fund - created to help us give toward the next person called by God to help us reach our community. Pray about what God would have you give beyond regular giving toward the future of our church. Designate your offering, “Legacy.”

Pastor Shelley is planning to run a marriage strengthening course this fall and personal finance course (saving, debt, budgeting) in the winter. These would be both available to members and attenders and for those in the neighbourhood. Anyone interested in helping with logistics for the marriage course, or being trained to help with the finance course should speak with Pastor Shelley.

    Praying Together

Let's remember Afghanistan, the worldwide pandemic, conflict within our communities over vaccines and especially people's need for Jesus.

    ·         Let's remember our indigenous neighbours, praying for healing and restored dignity and ask God for ways to walk out reconciliation.

    ·         Let's remember those with health needs and crises, and pray for each other for courage, encouragement and reliance upon God.

Urgent prayer request for Chile coming from the Free Methodist superintendent:

Recently the school in Millalen was burned, and there is a threat to burn the headquarters and the church. Terrorist activities by a small group of hurt and angry Mapuche people in the country's southern area have destroyed nearly 30 different churches. Pray for protection, comfort for the children who have lost their school, for end to the destructiveness, and for the peace of Christ to reign in this nation.

Pray for students, teachers and staff at Brock Middle School, as new students, new administrators and new routines are experienced this fall. Pray for the kids that congregate near our building during the day for godly wisdom and grace in interactions with them

Pray for our refugee family in Turkey, experiencing delays in the process.

     New (tentative) church office hours:

    M: 11-1:30 PM  W: 9-1 PM  Th: 2-4 PM  F: 9-1 PM

Sanitizers/Wipes are available throughout this building.
