'For Guys - and A Few Other Announcements'

    October 10, 2013
Ian, our Mens Ministry coordinator, came in to the office yesterday with a few ideas and announcements ...

    The Shop Nite guys
have just started going through "Effectively Handling All That You Have" (on stewardship). The group meets Tuesdays at 7PM in Ian's shop. All guys are welcome. (BTW, they had a fun dinner at ABC Saturday night - 'Rib Fest' was cancelled at the last minute but they still got together. Our former pastor Marc McAlister was in town so was able to show up too :)

Ian's wants to take a group and meet with other guys (city-wide) to participate in the live 'Fight' simulcast with pastor and author Craig Groeschel. . .

FOR GOD'S SAKE. FIGHT  "Are you ready to fight? That's right, God created each man with the heart of a warrior and the desire to fight for what's right. Whether you admit it or not, your marriage, your family, your heart are in a battle zone and it's your responsibiility to fight for what matters most."
    Date: Saturday October 26  -  Time: 8:15 am breakfast / 9:00AM simulcast
Location: Gateway City Church, 163 Oriole Rd
Cost: $15 includes breakfast and a copy of Craig Groeschel's book Fight. The winner of the door prize will receive their choice of a one-month membership to the local boxing gym OR a paid pay-per-view of the next big fight event.

There are two other breakfasts scheduled soon, one with the Salmon Arm guys again - but plans are still in the works, so check back.

A Family Adventure: Corn Maze at Tranquille Farm, October 20, 1 - 4PM. $ Admission For more info, talk to Pastor Jeff.

LADIES: Edith and Evelyn asked me to let you know the Ladies Craft Time Tuesdays (11:30-2:30) in our fellowship room is very casual and you're welcome to just drop in. (Cancelled October 15 only) Don't feel you have to be committed to come every time. I stopped by this past Tuesday and saw some awesome quilting going on! Beautiful work!
Coming up ... Christmas Shoeboxes! Promotion next Sunday.

Looking further ahead, our Christmas Event has been scheduled for December 13th, our theme is "Let Heaven and Nature Sing!" We are excited about this year's annual event :)

This Sunday is World Relief Sunday as well as the wrap-up for our ROOF PROJECT. And for the rest of October, our Church, partnering with Kids Church, is collecting non-perishable food items for distribution by the Salvation Army to those in need. Thank you for caring!

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!!
