Hello! Thanks for checking in :) We are in the process of updating our website - thanks to Chris B! - and look forward to a bright new site in the not too distant future.
I haven't posted for some time so thought I would highlight several points:
Pastor Vern will be leaving tomorrow morning for vacation - spending time on the tractor planting at his friends' in SK. This is an annual thing he loves to do, to just get out in the fresh air and solitude then enjoy the fellowship of the crew after hours. And have some hearty farm meals! We wish him all the best.
Three people have been scheduled to speak Sunday mornings in Pastor Vern's absence: Clint Heigh, KRCC Chaplain - May 3 / Wayne Spence, our Church Delegate - May 10 / Linda Weisenburger, continuing with the Apostles' Creed - May 17. Please join us!
Char and Wayne have started a new unit at Kids Church - Weird Animals - where Jesus' love is one of a kind. Check out the kids department - it is amazing! Thanks, Spences, for the thought and hard work you put into providing such a great learning time for our children. So upbeat and happy!
Welcome back Rachael and Tyler! They have just returned from a 'belated honeymoon' in Ireland and we look forward to hearing all the stories about their trip.
Congratulations to Steve and Lenna who have just celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary! Rachael and family hosted a surprise dinner for them complete with a replica of their original wedding cake.
I was so happy to join Rod and Dawn at their group birthday party at Overlander last Friday. What a FUN time for the residents, staff and Rod and Dawn's team! I was honoured to be invited to fill in for their regular pianist.
As I type, the Church is bustling with preparations for our New Horizons meeting - our seniors (+ guests) group. This morning their special feature is local pianist and acclaimed musician, Curtis Howell. Lunch to follow.
Many of the care groups are finishing up for the summer but will start up again in September. The Men's Shop Nite group will be meeting one more time - tomorrow night (April 28). Student Cafe (160+ Brock Middle School Students come for a light breakfast) and Youth will continue into June. In the summer months, as well as our usual Sunday morning services, we will likely be having our Summer Backyard Fellowship Times - we will keep you posted.
Anyway, be sure to get out and enjoy the fresh spring air and the wonder of God's creation coming to life again - it's so awesome and just helps one feel so alive and thankful! Have a great week, everyone.
