'Lots of Ways to be Involved'

    September 27, 2013
It's a very busy Fall so far! There are many things one could be involved in. Just to name a few:

    • Our Church, partnering with Kids Church (their current theme is 'Who Is My Neighbour'), will be collecting non-perishable foods for distribution by the Salvation Army to those in need. Thank you for caring! Please place donations in the designated area in the lobby.
    • Evangelism Training this Sunday night and next (Sept. 29/Oct. 6) at 6:30PM.
    • Our ROOF PROJECT FYI, we have had a major roof leak over the kitchen and Fellowship Room. The roof needs to be replaced at the cost of $20,000. Following the Congregational Meeting last Sunday evening we have received pledges for $13,800 of the project. We are very grateful for this spontaneous generosity. However, we need everyone's help. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help financially with this project beyond your regular giving. Please mark your envelope 'Roof Project' and place in the offering by Thanksgiving Sunday, Oct. 13/13. Thank you for your timely help!
    • In the Community - LIFE CHAIN - Kamloops Pro-Life Society - Meet at the corner of Columbia and McGill. Life Chain is a peaceful witness of pro-life Canadians standing for one hour praying for our country, for an end to abortion and against the legalization of euthanasia. It has been a visual statement of solidarity in support of human life for more than 20 years.
    • GOD IS ON THE MOVE! Inspiration, Insite, Invitation - Dessert Night with Dr. Yaw Perbi from Ghana. Tuesday, October 8 - 7PM at Valleyview Bible Church (sponsored by TRUSU Focus & ISMC Kamloops) call the church office or Dan Geddert for more information (250 319-9236).
    • WORLD RELIEF CANADA - This year we are participating in 'Join Us' on Thanksgiving Sunday, partnering with World Relief Canada for the people in poverty they serve.

As well, we have nine or ten care groups up and running. And something new - Ladies Craft Time meeting on Tuesday after TOPS. Bring your lunch and a craft to work on. Word is, someone will be teaching quilting for those interested.

Student Cafe has served 150/140 Brock Middle School students so far the last two Wednesdays. Thanks helpers and donators!

Come on over to the Church Sunday and bring a friend for 'Friend Sunday'. Pastor Jeff will be sharing, 'What Do You Want to Believe?', Scripture - Romans 19:9-14.

The following week, Rev Marc McAlister (Director of Church Health for FMCiC) and Laurie will be here. Marc will speak.

So there you have it ... don't miss out, there are lots of ways to be involved at FMCC!
