Our church looks so beautiful! Our ladies have been decorating for days - a 'nature' theme for 'Let Heaven and Nature Sing', our annual Christmas Event this Friday. Boughs and branches, stars and snow everywhere, and in our sanctuary, many, many gorgeous poinsettias in memory or honour of a loved one. And outside, real snow is falling! I heard that the guys are coming today to get the hayride wagon (or trailer?) ready and decorated for Friday night.
One more rehearsal for our choir - we've had a lot of fun this year! Quite a mixed group but it all works :)
Hope you can join us whether you're booked for turkey dinner or not! If you don't have a reservation for dinner, come over about 6:00 PM or earlier to take in the activities. There's a youth room upstairs, crafts, cookies to decorate, a puzzle and coffee room and a nature tree for the birds to decorate (you decorate, not the birds!). As well, there are lots of fragrant boughs brought in from Mountain Spring Farm for those who would like an opportunity to learn to make either a table centre-piece or garland. Instead of our usual two mini-theatres, mini movies will be presented at 5:45 and 6:56 PM. And I've already mentioned the hayride and carol-singing leaving at intervals throughout the evening. I've heard the last hayride after 8:00 PM is usually the most lively with youth and young adults!
We hope to see you Friday, it's going to be a great evening! For many in our neighbourhood this is a tradition!
