Many of us have been following the news of the earthquake disaster in Nepal over the past few days.
The Free Methodist Church has been present in Nepal for more than a decade, largely in the central part of the country around Pokhara, the second largest city in the country (close to the quake site). There are more than 70 FM churches in the country. http://fmcusa.org/fmwm/countries/nepal/
Our relief and development partner, World Relief Canada, already has personnel in their network on the ground in the earthquake zone. For info from WRC regarding Nepal, keep checking this location http://www.worldrelief.ca/emergencyfund
This week, FMCiC has sent $10,000 directly to World Relief Canada from The Bishop’s Relief Fund.
At this point it is trained professionals, on the ground, who are going to provide the best assistance. As you will note in WRC’s news, that’s exactly what they are providing through their partner network.
If you would like to contribute to needs in Nepal, please send them directly to World Relief Canada.
