S u m m e r t i m e . What does that word mean to you? To me (when not at my desk), it means blue skies and hot weather, flip flops, leisurely reading, lots of camping, lots of flowers, BBQs, roadtrips, watching the stars late at night, spontaneous trips to DQ, the sound of the sprinkler and the lawn mower, visiting with family and friends ... and thanking God for this time of rest and relaxation :) It has been a somewhat busy year for us but it's still summertime and I love it, don't you?!
Here at the church, we're always looking and planning ahead. In case you've been away on vacation and haven't checked the calendar or church bulletin, there are a few dates you may want to note on your fall calendar...
As you can see, there are many opportunities to be involved, and our church family welcomes you! Our regular groups will be starting up too. These will be put on the calendar as the office is notified of dates and times.
Another thing I look forward to, although the break I've had is much appreciated, is getting back to leading worship. This morning I read of a church in Bogota, Columbia experiencing an incredible movement of God, e.g. 2,000 people are coming to Christ each week!! God is working in amazing ways in other parts of the world and I just long for an outpouring of His Holy Spirit in our nation, in our city, in our church family. God is answering prayer and our God is awesome and our God is working in our midst, but I want more. I long for and I pray for more of a spiritual awakening. Anyway, if you have time this summer, check out a new song this church is singing, 'Revival', Soulfire Revolution.
