The challenge of keeping our faith is constantly before us.

Consider some of the obstacles we face:

ü  Our circumstances change often leaving us weaker

ü  Our bodies age leaving us unable to do what we would like to do

ü  People we love and count on leave us

ü  Our spiritual influencers change and our input slows down

    ü  Disappointment with God

ü  Energy to carry on diminishes and challenges our desire to finish strong

‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,

who have been called according to his purpose’ Romans 8:28

    Matt 6: 33-34

1 Trust God enough and give it all to the Lord

    • Seek Him first and He will deal with it all – Matt 6:33
    • We often need to re-submit or re-commit areas that keep coming back
    • This is a significant step of faith
    • We face defining moments of faith

2 Trust God and enjoy today

    • Jesus says that today has enough challenges without borrowing from tomorrow – Matt 6:34
    • Worry/anxiety is defined as viewing the future as if the Lord were not present
    • We tend to envision the worst
    • The Lord sees the solution and the potential

3 Trust God and go forward

    • Challenge is to not worry about what could be
    • Faith expects us to look at the future with expectancy
    • Faith and courage link arms with us as we step forward
    • Practice the presence of the Lord as we walk into the future
    • Corrie Ten Boom – ‘Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God’
    • We have the promises of the Lord regarding the future – John 14:2-3

    • Going forward anticipates a growing relationship with Jesus
    • Going forward embraces today as a gift to enjoy
    • Going forward  requires walking by faith as we step ahead
