    'Thankful Heart' by Pastor Vern

    October 7, 2016

    Col 3: 12 – 17

Thanksgiving gives us the opportunity to look at what we have and express thanks .often we just cruise through life in the fast lane and not stop to give thanks. The practice of godliness or developing a deeper devotion causes us to examine our hearts and express our thanks.

‘What you believe about God is the most important thing about you’ A W Tozer

                                                                                                                                       -Knowledge of the Holy – p 9

‘Godliness consists of two distinct but complementary traits.

    1.       God-centeredness which is called devotion to God

    2.       Godlikeness which is called Christian character

We may express a reverence for God but we demonstrate devotion to God by our earnest desire and our sincere effort to be like him’                                                       Jerry Bridges – The Practice of Godliness – p69
